MONTH OF SUNDAYS” This uplifting story of the friendship of two men in an old peoples’ home is tenderly and perceptively written by Bob Larbey who has, together with his partner John Esmonde, written many comedy series for television. These include Please Sir, The Fenn Street Gang, The Good Life etc. As a solo writer he had much success with A Fine Romance starring Judi Dench and the late Michael Williams. Feb/March 2007 ![]() "At first the plot of this murder mystery seems to follow a well-worn track: a greedy husband wanting to get his hands on his wife’s money first kills her brother and then tries to convince her that she is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, before enlisting his girl friend to help him murder the wife. His plans, of course, do not work out as he intends and the twists and turns are numerous as successive suspects (each with a plausible motive) are identified as being possible perpetrators of the ensuing murder. This ingenious play from the master of the genre, the creator of the hugely popular Paul Temple series, is guaranteed to have you on the edges of your seats as it comes to its dramatic conclusion." Limelight is proud to be performing the dramatised version of The Diary of Anne Frank at The Carriageworks. Limelight first performed this play in 1981, but now that there is a new generation of young people who are studying the Holocaust at school it seems a good time to present it once again. This written record of a young Jewish teenager, forced to hide from the Nazis for three years with family and other friends in a secret room in the attic of an Amsterdam warehouse, is a story brought to life by this play. Anne’s life is the raw and honest reflections she pours into her diary. Her thoughts and her words become a legacy. They are as timely now as ever they were. Helen Lorie directs the large cast led by her own daughter Frederika in the part of Anne.
