In September 2007, this "The Magic Scarf" poster won the Best Poster Award (Leeds Civic Arts Guild)

Jane Curtin, Director The Magic Scarf.

When Lee and Sandy build a snowman on Christmas Eve they have no idea what the night will bring. A snowman needs his scarf to help him return to the land of ice and snow when he melts, but what will poor Tingles do? The North Wind has ‘borrowed’ his scarf and is in no hurry to return it.
With a lot of help from a very unusual Christmas tree fairy the three set off to the rescue. Can they outwit the cunning scarecrow, defeat the wicked witch and win back the scarf? Will the children miss Christmas altogether?

A £420 donation in-lieu of royalties for The Magic Scarf was made to Leeds Dogs Trust, in memory of Edna Barwell. Edna was a longtime supporter of the NCDL and we thought that this would be a popular and fitting tribute.
