Tony Hoyland Commemorative Plaque unveiled at The Carriageworks theatre
A plaque dedicated to Tony Hoyland was unveiled on Thursday 12 June 2008 in the Carriageworks bar, for his contribution to Leeds amateur theatre and the building of the Carriageworks theatre.
The ceremony was attended by Tony's family, theatre management and representatives of Leeds Civic Arts Guild societies with which Tony was involved; LIDOS, G & S, COS and Leeds Children's Theatre. The LIDOS cast of Annie was also invited, as this show was to have been directed by Tony. There was a speech by Jan Morrell (COS member and Chair of the Guild) outlining Tony's contribution of 'technical knowhow' and diplomacy as former Chair of the Leeds Arts Guild. A few words were said by Leeds councillor, John Proctor who then unveiled the plaque in the Carriageworks Bar
